Our Story

Jared and Ellie first crossed paths in 2018, when Jared interned in Kansas City alongside Ellie’s friend (and future bridesmaid), Avery. At the time, Ellie was still at KU, living in Lawrence, while Jared was finishing school at Iowa State. Ellie likes to say it was love at first sight—though technically, it was a picture of Jared with his intern group that first caught her attention.

In 2019, Jared moved back to Kansas City after graduation. From the moment he returned, the two started spending time together, making regular drives between Lawrence and KC. By the time Ellie graduated in 2020, their connection felt easy, natural, and meant to last.

Fast forward to December 2024: Jared proposed to Ellie overlooking Kansas City, a perfect backdrop for the life they’d built together over the years. Today, they live downtown with their French Bulldog, Peppa, in their second apartment together. They share a love of travel, good food, and making each other laugh.
