We are so happy you are making the trip!

When you land in the Kansas City International Airport, you will be about 17 minutes from the venue where we will say “I do”. There are lots of hotels to stay at near the airport. We have even made choices for our lodging with you in mind. If you want to stay near the airport, choose the Hilton Garden Inn; if you are looking for the full Kansas City experience, stay downtown at the Hampton Inn & Suites.

Getting There

The ceremony and reception will be held at Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri. Cars can be left overnight at the venue until 11:00 AM the next day.

Here are some of our favorite spots we hope you’ll check out while you’re in the area.

Mildred’s

Coffee & Breakfast Cafe

Mildred’s has become our go-to spot for coffee. We recommend you try the standard breakfast sandwich or the chipotle wrap (Jared and Ellie’s favorite).

Where to Eat

Extra Virgin

Mediterranean Restaurant

Highly recommend you eat at Extra Virgin while you are in town. We love this spot for the happy hour!

Farina

Italian Restaurant

This is one of our favorite spots when we are feeling fancy. This is also where we went to eat after we got engaged! Requires a reservation.

Q39

Kansas City BBQ

In the battle for the best BBQ in Kansas City, we think that Q39 is the clear winner. We love it for the upscale vibe and the best sauce in KC! Visit any of their location to see for yourself!

Where to Go

The City Market

Farmer’s Market

We love a laidback Saturday morning spent strolling around the farmer’s market. Take the street car and explore the River Market area and shop from local vendors. Check out the website for parking information.

Country Club Plaza

Shopping Center

This is a Kansas City staple with tons of shopping options and yummy bites.

Nelson Atkins

Art Museum

Check out the Nelson Atkins for an extension collection of art both indoors and outdoors. Admission is always free.

National WWI Memorial Museum and Liberty Memorial

Historical Landmark and Museum

We love this spot for the architecture outdoors, but if you’re a history buff, we recommend checking out the museum located inside the Memorial.
